SHP Leading Design

Beyond Expectations

Now, it’s not often, when attending a ribbon cutting or dedication at the end of a project, to hear from the client that they “didn’t think the project could be done within the budget, and in fact, was delivered beyond all expectations,” but that is what SHP heard about our work on the new Department of Architecture for Bowling Green State University (BGSU).

The Challenge:

Bowling Green State University’s Department of Architecture & Environmental Design and its studio classes were split among several buildings, including one off-campus location. The University sought to bring all teaching and learning activities together in a single location as well as provide additional space to accommodate the growing master of Architecture program, which was undergoing accreditation.

The university identified a building on campus for this to happen: a 31,000 sf nondescript warehouse.
