“Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them.” ~Ruben Chavez.
This quote is one of Jordan Hibner’s all-time favorites and for Jordan, the thing she was drawn to very naturally was design!
As an interior designer for SHP, Jordan’s day-to-day responsibilities might cover anything from documenting what a client might need in their new space to designing 3D renderings. But it’s imagining how an empty space will look and feel that really excites her.
“My favorite part of the design process is the very beginning, when everything is a blank slate from the interior’s perspective,” said Jordan. “I love drawing inspiration through research and exploration on a topic that relates to the client and then taking my findings and turning them into spaces that will excite the users.”
Before joining the SHP team, Jordan spent several years learning more about what being a great interior designer means. Now she exceeds those expectations every day. She hopes her career will leave a positive impact on her industry and community.
“I hope to look back on being a lifelong learner. I want to continuously be learning anything and everything I can about our industry,” she said. “I want to be able to pass that on to younger designers in the future, just as my mentors continue to do for me.”
When it comes to making an impact, Jordan’s contributions aren’t limited to her profession. In her free time, Jordan loves to cycle, and each year, she trains to ride 100 miles in a single day to raise awareness for her brother, Ian, who has Type 1 diabetes. She also loves to simply explore nature wherever possible.
“Travel is a huge part of my life,” said Jordan. “I truly believe the best way to see our beautiful country is through road trips that include camping and hiking along the way.”
