OSU Dean's Office in Founders Hall
Client: The Ohio State University, Newark
Location: Newark, Ohio
  • Renovation of 1,813sf of existing classroom and storage space into Dean's office in Founders Hall.
  • The design provides the executive team with space for growth, including an office for an Assistant Dean, as well as a larger reception.
Interesting Fact: The design considered the suite’s connection to the corridor including OSU branded graphics visible when students are approaching the suite.

The Ohio State University’s Newark Campus required a new Dean’s office that screamed OSU while supporting a variety of administrators. The finished design provides the executive team with space for growth, including an office for an Assistant Dean and an area supporting a full-time receptionist. SHP also included OSU branded graphics visible when students are approaching the suite.

"We ended up combining an existing classroom and a storage space into what is now the Dean's office. I think it came out beautifully, but more importantly, it will be adaptable enough that moving forward, the administration team can alter the design themselves to fit whatever needs they require of the space."
