Project Description

With the goal of improving space, safety, efficiency and performance standards for students and student-athletes, as well as impacting recruiting, Elder High School enlisted the help of SHP to complete a facility assessment and master plan of the campus to evaluate the potential to renovate or build new an athletic training facility. The process included a complete site and physical condition survey of all facilities on campus, meetings with facility personnel and administration to review building concerns, development of options, preparation of cost estimates and upgrade recommendations that ultimately led to the project detailed below.

Project Features

  • A dramatic two-story addition with a 5,870sf weight training facility, a changing room and locker room, lobby space and coaches’ office on the first floor.
  • A 6,000sf multi-purpose space on the upper floor to accommodate wrestling practice during the day and, with views overlooking the stadium, large group events in the evening.
  • A smaller group/meeting space for up to 25 people with views to the courtyard below.
  • SHP supported fundraising efforts with graphics, boards and digital copies of the solution as well as presentation support to interested donors.
