Project Description
Completed in 2012, Butler High School underwent $30M addition and renovation program designed by SHP. The 240,000 square feet of construction took place over a complex phasing plan, allowing the building to remain operational throughout the year. Typical projects of this size and scope take 24 months, but SHP was able to complete it under 14 months.

Project Features
- High back, soft seating creates intimate discussion spaces within the larger library, tablet arm chairs are set on casters to allow movement, triangle-shaped tables that can be reconfigured for independent or group research and electronic data ports are everywhere.
- Sustainable features such as a geothermal heating and cooling system, as well as extensive daylighting and occupancy sensors.
