Project Features

  • The design takes into deep consideration the end-users and implements specialized daylighting strategies and security to create a welcoming environment with emphasis on resident peace of mind.
  • Each room includes a fixed window unit with an obscure glass section in the lower part for safety and security and a clear, operable portion at the top to allow views of the sky and fresh air without compromising security.
  • A unique feature of the shelter includes animal silhouettes painted by each resident room designed with the intent of creating recognizable wayfinding graphics for younger children.
