Badin High School Student Development Center

Hamilton, OH

Project Description

In an effort to enhance opportunities for current and future students, Stephen T. Badin High School enlisted the help of SHP to provide an assessment and master plan as well as develop the design of the high school’s Student Development Center. The 7,750sf addition links the original main high school building (completed by SHP in 1965) with an activity center that was added to the campus in 2005 (also completed by SHP). In addition to the administration team, SHP engaged Badin HS stakeholders during the design process.

Project Features

  • The multi-functional commons space provides an overflow area for a variety of activities during the school day as well as after-hours and weekend functions.
  • A small learning stair that can seat 60 students gives Badin HS the flexibility to host presentations in the commons space.
  • A conference room that can be used for small group work and student presentations.
  • An open, shared area between the guidance and spiritual offices provides added flexible space.
