Employee Spotlight: Dan Leffingwell, Client Relationship Manager

When asked what excites him most about his work, Dan Leffingwell proudly replied, “When I see clients or colleagues begin or complete a project they never thought would be possible!”
Since joining the team in August of 2024, Dan Leffingwell has become a key player in delivering exceptional client service and enhancing client partnerships at SHP. As a client relationship manager, Dan seeks to help people make connections to bring their work full circle. He accomplishes this by advising on the connection between innovative, forward-thinking curricula and appropriately designed educational facilities.
With a distinguished career in education, Dan possesses an impressive 36 years of academic and administrative experience. Most recently, he served as the Dean of Engineering and Business at Washington State College of Ohio, where he made significant contributions to both the academic and business communities. His background includes serving a range of roles at Noble Local Schools, including teacher, principal and superintendent. During his time as superintendent, Dan worked with SHP to implement various facility improvement projects for the district.
A deep dedication to innovation and leadership has marked Leffingwell’s career in education. In 2022, he was honored with the Ohio State Superintendent of the Year award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to educational excellence. Before his tenure at Washington State, Leffingwell held key positions, including Director of Innovation, Legislative Services and Operations at the East Central Ohio ESC. In addition to his current role at SHP, Dan is the Director of the Appalachian STEM Collaborative, which supports the development of STEM culture in schools to prepare students for the in-demand jobs of the 21st century and beyond.
“Dan Leffingwell’s wealth of experience and his proven track record in leadership and innovation make him a valuable addition to SHP,” said Shea McMahon, Vice President at SHP. “His diverse background in education and commitment to fostering strong relationships will play a pivotal role in enhancing our client relationship strategies.”
Leffingwell holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration/Leadership from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Marietta College.
Dan enjoys golfing and spending quality time with his family outside of work.
