Employee Spotlight: Charlie Jahnigen, Executive Vice President

At SHP, our mission is to serve our clients, provide them with the best possible product, serve the communities in which we reside, and improve the educational experience for future generations. For Charlie Jahnigen, working with these goals in mind is a dream come true.

Charlie has a great passion for the architectural field, as he has proven to be a master of the topic and has been recognized for his work in the past. Still, he has an even greater passion for the world of education and believes wholeheartedly in the benefits of being a lifelong learner.

Charlie has been with SHP for over twenty years and has established himself as an optimistic leader who consistently puts the needs of others ahead of his own.

“Charlie is one of the most selfless people in the company,” said former president Lauren Della Bella. “He is one of those guys who will drop whatever he is doing to help a coworker with a project if needed, no questions asked.”

As Executive Vice President at SHP, Charlie is a communicator first and foremost. He is in constant communication with clients, employees, and business partners, with his other primary responsibilities being to manage projects and the firm.

Charlie has worked on many projects throughout his career at SHP, including the recently completed Milford Middle School, Kings High School (currently under construction), and the award-winning Sycamore building program.

“My days are fast-paced, and each one is different, which I love. I like not knowing what the day has in store. But one thing that is consistent in my job is the people I get to work with. I genuinely love who I work with, so that makes the job fun too.”

At the end of his career, Charlie hopes to see that he was able to propel people closer to their desired professional role and be remembered for making a difference in people’s lives.

“I hope to look back and see that my career involvement helped or improved many people’s lives,” said Charlie. “I also want people to remember how hard I worked and how much I cared about each and every project with SHP.”

Outside the office, Charlie enjoys running, exploring new technology, cooking, savoring great food, and traveling. Most of all, he values time spent with his family.
