Unpeeling the Layers of Architecture: Cincinnati’s Historic Atlas Building
It’s no secret that Cincinnati is full of gems—Skyline Chili, Findlay Market and the Cincinnati Reds, just to name a few—but perhaps the most impressive jewel in the Queen City’s crown is its wealth of historic architecture. The Atlas Building, found in the heart of Cincinnati’s Central Business District, is no exception. The newly renovated lobby of the Atlas Building includes amenities for any tenant or passerby to enjoy while preserving the building’s historic identity.
Our team approached the Atlas Building project with two key design goals in mind: restoration and preservation, and the addition of features that made the space modern and comfortable for tenants and visitors. With careful planning, attention to detail and a lot of creativity, we managed to strike the perfect balance within the Atlas Building, blending the building’s rich heritage and beautiful old-world architecture with clean, modern functionality. Visitors can see the attention to design elements everywhere, creating a sense of cohesion throughout the building.
In our latest case study, Unpeeling the Layers of History: Cincinnati’s Historic Atlas Building, we explore how the thoughtful design blends the past and the future into something truly special.
