Columbia Intermediate School Addition
Client: Kings Local Schools
Location: Landen, Ohio
- The addition offers 7 speciality classrooms, including STEAM, and an ELA space, and creates a courtyard area on the site for outdoor learning.
- The exterior blends with the existing school through brick and window detailing, adding the client's preference for a low-sloped roof.
- The interior offers refreshed materials and space flexibility for future curriculum needs.
Driven by strategy and storytelling: This project stemmed from an accelerated facility master planning process that began in August 2023. The engagement-driven initiative focused on aligning people around what matters most, and building the confidence and momentum to move forward down a unified path.

To address growing enrollment at Kings Local Schools, this intermediate school addition provides the district with much-needed space in a 30-year-old building. The addition prepares the current 5–6 building to serve students in grades 4–5 after the completion of a new high school facility.
