Employee Spotlight: Michelle Ens, Plumbing Engineer
Detail-oriented. Excited to learn.
Since joining the SHP team in 2022, Michelle Ens has played an essential role in the design of safe, functional buildings. As a plumbing engineer, Michelle’s primary responsibility lies in the design of comprehensive plumbing systems; when it comes to questions about fluid dynamics or the optimal routing for supply and waste piping, she’s the one to see. She’s also involved in selecting the appropriate fixtures and equipment to ensure functionality for our projects.
Detail-oriented and inquisitive, Michelle takes pride in understanding the intricacies of each project to make a meaningful impact for both the team and the client. “Designing a functional system for the client is the most important part of any project,” she says. “That’s why I enjoy being with SHP. They give me the opportunity to learn about and design a building system that most people don’t know much about, but that is crucial to building functionality.”
Looking ahead, Michelle plans to continue expanding her expertise in a field that is fundamental to the comfort and safety of building occupants. “I hope I can say that every project I work on is even better than the last,” she says. “Ultimately, I want to continue improving our clients’ surroundings and experiences!”
When she’s out of the office, Michelle enjoys creative pursuits like knitting and sewing that showcase her attention to detail (she’s even completed a full quilt!). She also loves spending time with her two rescue kitties, Beanie and Blue.
