About SHP’s Five New Vice Presidents
Jenny Gallow, NCIDQ, LEED AP
Known for her ingenuity and creativity, Jenny works as an interior designer with the goal of “putting out fires and making dreams come true.” In her new role, she will help oversee the interior design team as it continues to grow. Gallow graduated from Miami University with her B.F.A in interior design and was awarded the Rising Star Award, issued by Cincinnati Design Awards, in 2012.
Vern Hendrickson IV, LEED AP
With well over 20 years of experience in the architecture industry, Vern now serves as SHP’s Vice President of Technology and is responsible for the firm’s ongoing efforts to leverage emerging technologies. Hendrickson continues to focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) in an effort to increase design efficiency and effectiveness. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.
Carrie Malatesta, IIDA, LEED AP
Carrie graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2000 and quickly found a home with SHP as an interior designer and as a key contributor to our educational visioning efforts. Over the course of her 20+ year career, Malatesta has established herself as one of SHP’s most relied-upon designers by envisioning functional, beautiful educational facilities and bringing them to life. She will continue to be an integral part of the interiors team as a designer and leader.
Allison McKenzie, AIA, LEED AP, WELL AP
A University of Cincinnati graduate, Allison began her SHP career shortly after receiving her Master of Architecture in 2006. In 2019, she was elected AIA Cincinnati President. In her new role at SHP, Allison is involved in nearly every project from start to finish to ensure that they are built in an environmentally responsible manner and align with environmental policies and procedures—an effort she has led for several years.
Shea McMahon
Shea leads SHP’s Columbus office, where he is also responsible for leading client relationship and business development efforts. He often helps the firm’s public clients in their pursuit of master plans, community engagement efforts and ballot initiatives. He graduated from Purdue University with a Master’s degree in Professional Communication.
