Happy 5th Anniversary to Jacob Faiola
Fun, Efficient, Helpful, Knowledgeable, Passionate
“I find creative solutions to produce building designs that perfectly balance conflicting criteria and it’s the best job in the world,” says Jacob Faiola.
At SHP, we pride ourselves on our creativity when it comes to problem-solving and our unwavering work-horse mentality. Jacob has exactly that and more, making him one of our top project managers and mechanical engineers. But it’s his genuine passion for designing HVAC systems that makes him an incredible asset to the SHP team.
One of the highlights of Jacob’s tenure at SHP was winning Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification at Northwest schools, in part because of his chilled beam HVAC system. He’s also been a strategic and steady contributor to clients’ healthy building environments. He regularly researches, tests, tinkers with and ultimately improves indoor air quality solutions that help clients, well, breathe easier. (Case in point, Jacob’s recent leadership around indoor air quality solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
“He is one of the best in the business,” says project manager, Tom Poff. “He is never afraid to try something new, even if it doesn’t work out like he expected. His leadership and passion for the field is unmatched. I am so proud to have him on our team.”
Jacob spent several years improving his skills as an engineer and a leader before finding himself with SHP. While his goal is to be the best engineer he can be, he wants to make sure he brings all of his friends and colleagues with him on his journey.
In his free time, Jacob enjoys playing classical guitar and cooking! You can see here he made a deconstructed ahi tuna Nicoise salad.
