Allison McKenzie of SHP presented a seminar titled “Acoustics: The Sounds of Sustainable Design” on Monday, June 9th at NeoCon 2014.  NeoCon is North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors, held June 9-11 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Monday’s seminar addressed acoustical design in buildings, the metrics involved, best practices for sound control and how utilizing acoustics can help projects earn LEED points toward certification.

A reflection of her time at NeoCon and a downloadable version of Allison’s presentation is available on her blog, found here.

This year’s session was Allison’s fourth consecutive year speaking at the conference, a testament to her thought leadership and ability to educate in interesting and innovative ways.
